Aloha 2.0

You know that feeling you get when you share something with someone?  When someone shares something with you?  THAT is the Aloha Spirit.  That’s what this website is about.  Sharing and the Aloha Spirit.

I joined King’s Hawaiian in 2008 to help with marketing.  Pretty fun job for someone like me who grew up with King’s Hawaiian bread as a kid on Oahu.  From time to time, I catch myself waist deep in business-speak, rattling off those garden variety marketing terms like “A/B testing,” “online display conversion” and “ROI analysis.”  But, despite the corporate lingo, all of us here really just believe the Hawaiian food we make is very special; and we want to share it with the world.  Over the years, we’re finding out that our fans want to share with us too.

King’s Hawaiian fans from various places and walks of life take time out of their day to share kind words and delicious recipes with us on our Facebook page and often even send them to our friendly Consumer Care team.  I am always surprised to see how many creative ways King’s Hawaiian bread can be used to feed a family (Root Beer Pulled Pork Sliders?  Wow!).

Our new website is a result of a very talented team of people who spent countless hours collaborating and thinking creatively.  What’s funny to me is that although we faced our fair share of technical and creative challenges, at the end of the day we’re really just creating a place for our ohana (family, friends and fans) to share delicious recipes and experience the Aloha Spirit.  Think of this website as our backyard, just online and available to people all over the globe.

Our aim for this new website is for it to be as enjoyable and hassle-free as your good old fashioned backyard get together.  No sign ups, subscription fees or commitments.

Bring your ideas, recipes and stories to share with the rest of our ohana. We look forward to hearing from you.  E komo mai, welcome to our home.
