Mauna Kea Sunrise

Makes 1 Serving
Ingredients
  • 1 slice of King's Hawaiian Bread
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 tsp. Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 2 slices of ham, shaved
  • 1 tsp. oil
  • Maple syrup
  • Powdered sugar
  • 1 strawberry and parsley sprig to garnish
Preparation
  1. In a bowl, whisk 1 egg. Then gradually add milk, cinnamon and vanilla extract.
  2. Cut a 2-inch hole in the center of the bread.
  3. Under medium heat, place oil in Teflon frying pan.
  4. Dip both sides of the bread into egg and milk mixture.
  5. Place the bread into the frying pan.
  6. Crack the other egg into the hole in the bread.
  7. Cook each side for one minute. Remove from heat.
  8. Lightly sauté ham and place in the center of the French toast.
  9. Pour desired amount of maple syrup over French Toast.
  10. Sprinkle powdered sugar.
