Portuguese Sausage Cheesy Bread

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Step 2
Cut 12 slices of KING’S HAWAIIAN Original Hawaiian Sweet Sliced Bread into quarters for a total of 48 pieces.
Step 3
Lay bread pieces on a baking sheet and toast in 350 degree oven for 5-8 minutes until lightly golden brown.
Step 4
Turn pieces over and toast on the other side for 3-4 more minutes until golden. Pieces should be toasted but not crispy and dried.
Step 5
Mix cooked sausage, mayonnaise, onion, and parmesan cheese in a medium bowl.
Step 6
Spread about one Tbsp of mixture on each toasted bread piece.
Step 7
Place pupus back on baking sheet and put in oven on the top shelf under broiler set on high. Keep oven door ajar and watch closely as the pupus go from perfect to burnt in seconds. Remove from oven when topping is brown and bubbly and the bread edges are beginning to char. Serve and enjoy.
