Fried Pineapple and Jalapeno BBQ Chipped Ham Burger Sandwich

Ingredients

1 1/4 pound ground chuck

1 1/4 tablespoon Maui onion sea salt, divided

1 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper, divided

1/3 cup self-rising flour

1/4 cup chives chopped & divided

1 cup fresh pineapple chunks

1/2 cup candied jalapeno BBQ sauce

16 thin slices chipped ham

4 Original Hawaiian Sweet Hamburger Buns

2 tablespoon Extra virgin olive oil

8 slices pepper jack cheese, divided

Preparation
Step 1
Prep grill or large grill pan to medium-high heat
Step 2
Combine ground chuck, 1 Tbsp sea salt and 1 tsp black pepper together. Form into 4 patties.
Step 3
Grill burgers for 4-5 minutes on each side or until desired doneness. Top hot burgers with one slice of cheese
Step 4
Meanwhile combine remaining sea salt, black pepper, flour and 1/2 of chives in a zip-lock bag. Add pineapple chunks and shake until evenly coated. Deep fry at 350 degrees for 3 minutes or until golden brown; drain on paper towels.
Step 5
Heat up BBQ sauce in a sauce pan and grill chipped ham about 30 seconds on each side.
Step 6
Brush buns with olive oil and grill for 45 seconds or until golden brown
Step 7
Assemble sandwich: Brush bottoms of buns with BBQ sauce followed by remaining cheese slices, burger, chipped ham, BBQ sauce, pineapple, remaining chives and tops of buns.
